Devil-hawk Dragon Demon

For Mercury. Not what you expected I bet.

As the title suggests this is a Devil-hawk Dragon Demon. He's one of the less happy ones too. I'm not 100% pleased with his head, but the wings turned out all right.

 

Horse-hawk

A most colorful hippogryph. Made in about half an hour. I suppose the wings could have been a bit bigger, but hey, it's not like there are any actual references, are there?

Someone suggested that I should draw a dead horse. So here it is.
On a side note I really need to improve my anatomy skills. Will try to upload some realistic character pictures soon... I really should have taken that life-drawing course after all. O well, next year I suppose.

 

Birth

What a fitting subject for a first submission to this brand new, smoking hot, state-of-the-art sketchlog. This will function partly as a means to keep track of my supposed progress as an artist, both to myself and the whoever would be interested, and also as a motivation to draw more, because if I don't draw I won't get any better. And then I won't get a good job and earn money so I can buy video games.

The man in the picture is born again, bursting out of his earthen prison. Much like my interest for drawing has been renewd since I began studying video game graphics at the university of Skövde. Fortunate, isn't it!
